Heli Heaven
On our first full day in Maui, we were scheduled to take a helicopter tour of the whole island. I remember that David and Jody loved this flight from a few years ago and I was very eager to get this perspective.
Our pilot named Steve used to fly Black Hawk helicopters in the military. Laurie and I had the privilege of flying in the front seat next to him and it was interesting to watch him operate the controls so smoothly.
Here's a photo of some other people in our group on their helicopter (ours looked the same):
After leaving the airport, we headed east toward Haleakala Crater. As you can see, the weather was nice and we had a nice view of the massive crater.
Heading further east toward Hana we passed by what seemed like hundreds of waterfalls. It wasn't easy to take good photos in the helicopter but I managed a few decent ones.
