Father/Daughter Camping in the Tetons

Our Jenny Lake Campsite

After saying goodbye to Colin at the airport, Chelsea and I rushed off to see if we could land a campsite at the coveted Jenny Lake Campground. Since it was already noon, I thought it was unlikely. But the luck of the Irish was with us today and we snatched what was probably the last campsite available. It was a really nice site to boot, located at the highest point of the campground with a spectacular view of Teewinot Mountain.

We set up camp in record time and were off to explore the Jenny Lake area. Our goal was a short loop hike to Moose Ponds near the south end of Jenny Lake. Unfortunately, a portion of the trail was closed due to black bear activity. So, instead of a hike we decided to rent a kayak for an hour on Jenny Lake itself. As you can see, it was great weather and Chelsea is a great kayaker now and really enjoys it. We have this near exact same pose of her kayaking in Jasper NP last summer.

That night we had dinner in Jackson at the Silver Dollar Grill. Chelsea orders steak any time we allow her to and she had a great one that night. After dinner, it was off to Antelope Flats to see if we could find some bison...
