Chicago at Night

After the architecture cruise, we searched out a local Thai restaurant that was recommended to us by the coffeehouse owner. We found Star of Siam near the corner of State and Illinois, about one block from where he said it would be. We made reservations for 8pm so that we still had some time to visit a local bar for an outdoor drink. The weather was perfect and the people watching was great too. The Spanish Rioja bottle of wine was a superb way to celebrate the day.

Star of Siam lived up to its reputation, serving excellent Thai food at a very reasonable price. I had one inadvisable bite of a hot pepper that set me back about 10 minutes in the meal. I guzzled about a quart of water to try to get rid of the burning and tingling in my throat. Whoops! Guess it wasn't a Bell Pepper after all!! The pot stickers and crab rangoons were to die for and Ann's Mussaman dish was primo! I will definitely have to get back to this restaurant some day.

It was great to have Jim and Ann make the quick trip for this action-packed weekend. I think they enjoyed the trip and got a good taste for what Chicago has to offer. Next time, maybe the rest of the family will be here too!

We had a wonderful time visiting the windy city Kev. Your new home is gorgeous. Thanks for not mentioning that you whupped me almost as badly as Justine whupped Ana at the French!

But we are a doubles team to be reckoned with...

As for P Tree, I thoroughly enjoyed the concert, and all of the songs on that cd have grown on me since. Now, when I listen, I envision the live performance. Interesting how the video images they projected come back to me as I listen, too.

Cheers!
