Spring in Arlington Heights

The newly installed tree is on the left side of this photo. You can see the extent of our front yard landscaping if you look closely. I'm not sure what grand schemes Laurie has in mind for these plant beds but it sure looks like a lot less work than the Chickadee Lane property!

Below is a view of our new tree along with the older trees alongside Phelps Avenue. Most of the neighborhoods here have nice tree-lined streets like this.

By the way, this past weekend we all rode our bikes into the little downtown area of AH, had some ice cream and shopped a little. How nice it was to not have to get in the car. We are planning on getting a carrier or two for our bikes so we can buy groceries and carry them home the environmentally-friendly way. The kids have been riding their bikes a lot lately and getting to know the neighborhood. They both need new bikes AGAIN since they just keep growing - funny how that happens!

One thing is for sure -- it's nice to have flat roads to bike or run on.
