Tuesday - Jasper, Here we come!

Okay, so we had to make one more quick visit to Lake Louise.  It was before 10am so the crowds were reasonable and it was quite peaceful and relaxing.  We took a short stroll through the Chateau and listened to a harpist set the mood for the relaxing morning.

I had to pick up a good cup of coffee before we hit the road on the Icefields Parkway.  I wanted to be alert for one of the most spectacular drives in North America.  Thankfully, the weather was cooperating and we had quite a bit of sun along with some light rain showers here and there.

One of my favorite places in Jasper is the view of Peyto Lake.  It's indescribably beautiful.  I hope mom forgives me for the difficulty of the hike to the view.  It's tough hiking at altitude but mom and dad made it and I think they were glad that they did it.

We stopped for lunch a bit further down the road at Waterfowl Lake.  We watched a goldeneye duck and many cowbirds in the parking lot.  It's not the most exotic bird species ( the cowbird) but Colin got some really great photos showing fun behavior of these birds.  Here's a snap of Waterfowl Lake.
