Storm Castle Views
(Garnet Mountain, elev. 8,245 ft., in background)
This was a great hike. You had to expend some effort but the views throughout the entire hike, and especially on the summit, are well worth this effort. In the photo below, the Spanish Peaks are visible on the horizon (looking west-southwest) and the near vertical view downward to the canyon is fantastic.
There was even a small arch on the summit ridge but my camera battery died so I could not take a photograph of it. Chelsea did well on the hike and we flew down the 2.5-mile trail in less than one hour.
