Monday, June 25th - Tetons to Big Sky, MT

Another Jenny Lake Bike Ride

On our last morning here in Grand Teton National Park, I had sufficiently worn out Chelsea and decided to let her sleep in. After yesterday's wonderful bike ride, I was anxious to try it again with less traffic in the early morning hours. I rode north from the campground and spotted eight elk in the sage brush before turning onto the one-way loop road toward Jenny Lake Lodge.

Mount Moran and Me

I managed to take a snapshot of myself by setting the camera on the bike seat. As you can see, it was yet another just miserable day, weatherwise! It was a crisp 50 degrees or so but warming quickly -- simply perfect for bike riding.

So it is time, for now, to say goodbye to Grand Teton NP. I am looking forward to exploring the park more when Laurie and I visit on July 6-8 (before picking up Colin at the end of his camp). I have a couple hikes picked out; one of them is a 15-mile hike and another is a 10-mile hike. The 15-mile hike is actually better suited to an overnight loop hike of 18 miles. We'll see what Laurie is up for! There is no shortage of great hiking in this park...
