Our final day, back on Maui

After we ferried back to Maui from Lanai, we had most of the day to explore West Maui. We had a great lunch at Cheeseburgers in Paradise with a table looking right over the beach. Then, we drove clockwise around West Maui to get back to Kahului.

We took a short hike to this blowhole. I had been here before on a previous trip. It's an amazing place with powerful surf crashing into the rocky coast.

We saw this heart-shaped hole in the rock and couldn't resist a posed photo there.

The spectacular show:

The drive around the remainder of the island was white-knuckle and nerve-wracking but I loved it. The other passengers in the car were less thrilled but I got us back to Kahului safely. If you've ever driven this road, you may remember that it's very narrow (one land in many spots), winding, with spectacular views and dropoffs. Youza!

As you can see, we had a great vacation in Hawaii. Colin and Chelsea now understand why we have raved about it all these years.
