Final Day in Yangshuo

After the bamboo rafting and before our drive back to the Guilin airport, we had a few hours to check out more of Yangshuo with our guide Emily. To get out of the mid-day heat, we visited an air-conditioned restaurant for a cold drink. After that short rest, we ventured into the blazing heat for a stroll around part of the town we had not seen and to see a park. I convinced everyone to hike to the top of Xilang Shan (Man Hill), which is situated in a park on the west end of town. The hill was only several hundred feet high but it gave an incredible view of the city. We were drenched with sweat before we'd even begun but I think everyone agreed that it was well worth the effort!

As we walked through the park we saw many people playing cards and other games. Check out these playing cards!

Here is the vantage point from the top of the hill. It gave us a much better perspective of this city built between the karst mountains.
