Dragon River Bamboo Raft

On our last day in Yangshuo, our guide Emily brought us to the Dragon River, a tributary of the Li River, for a bamboo raft ride. I'm forever thankful that Mrs. Gao (Colin's Chinese teacher) added this to our itinerary. This was the most relaxing two hours we spent in all of China! Complete serenity, beauty and peacefulness was ours to enjoy from the comfort of a shaded, reclined chair.

Emily and Colin shared one raft and Laurie and I were on the second raft.

How's this for a scenic ride?!?!?

Somehow I found this funny. Here we were on a centuries old mode of transport and the oarsman (?) was on his cell phone!
