Buffalo Bicycle Classic

Yesterday, I completed a 53-mile charity bike ride called the Buffalo Bicycle Classic. Since moving here, I have been training for this semi-long ride and it paid off. It was a nice cool day with no rain and that made it an easier ride than if it had been sunny and hot. I even kept my neon green jacket on the whole trip.

I didn't have a good camera with me but Laurie snapped these with my iPhone at the finish line (Laurie jogged from our house to meet me at the finish line on the CU campus.) It was a really fun event with hundreds of cyclists doing various length rides - 14, 35, 50, 70 and 100 miles.

Next year, maybe I'll train enough to complete the 100-mile ride. I surely could have done the 70-mile ride but I'm sure the 100-mile would have been quite painful to complete.

There was a nice party at the finish line with complementary food, beverages, and, most importantly, massage! The massage at the finish was worth the exertion of the ride.

I'm already looking forward to doing it again next year and maybe finding a few other rides to do also.
