Last Day in Jasper
On our final day in Jasper National Park, I was hoping that the weather would be a bit clearer so that Mom and Dad could see the incomparable Mt. Edith Cavell. I had done this hike 3 years ago and it was one of my favorite places in Jasper. Colin and Chelsea were so tired that they slept in the car while I did the hike to Angel Glacier at the base of the mountain.
On this relatively short hike, you get into spectacular high alpine terrain in no time at all. Mom and Dad used their hiking poles and made it to a spectacular vantage point.
Colin and I hiked a bit further to get to the iceberg lake at the base of the glacier. While we were there, many avalanches came pouring down the steepest faces like waterfalls (see the next blog entry).
