Bear Lair Afternoon Runs
Lori decided to call it a day after lunch and didn't want to push the limits of her knee (I can relate to that!), so Tom, Colin and I had 2.5 hours or so to go find more powder. It wouldn't be difficult.
We made the assessment that trying to go back to Challenger was risky since it may still be closed, the LPT would likely be socked in still, and Tom didn't want to head way back to Dakota again since it does take time to get out there and back.
So, we were more than happy to show Tom how good Blue Room was just before lunch. We took another great run there and Tom was loving life. I think I even heard him laughing about how good it was.
For kicks, we then figured that the expert runs off Thunderwolf were worth a try. Boy was that a good call!!! We first checked out the glade Bear Lair off of Big Horn. The run was steep and deep with great big soft bumps to turn around. At the exit, you glided down an open powder field with 12-18" of snow until you merged back onto Big Horn. Even this main run had deep snow on it making it a bit slow back to the bottom of Thunderwolf.

After two runs here it was time to try something else...
