Tom and Lori arrived safe and sound from their drive from Salt Lake City. Thankfully, the roads were in good shape and they had a nice scenic drive.
On Friday, the sun teased us most of the day but I did get a few shots of Tom when the sun was out. These two shots were taken in the steep trees near Rice Bowl, just below Swiftcurrent. Tom and I had a few good runs in here as the snow was quite good on this north-facing aspect.
Unfortunately, I caught Tom in the transition of the turn but I still like this shot with Lone Peak in the background:
This photo is two turns later:
The highlight of the skiing today (at least for Tom and Lori) was the tram run to the summit. The visibility was good with some hazy sunshine and relatively warm temps and virtually no wind. Here's a shot from the summit:
All six of us skied Liberty Bowl and the snow was pretty good for the most part - a bit thick for skinny skis maybe - but it was a nice long run down to Shedhorn. Here's a photo of Colin and Chelsea on the Shedhorn Lift:
So, Tom, C, C and I drove to the Bambu Bar and Asian Bistro and had some great appetizers and a beverage. At 7:30pm, we met up with L and L at Andiamo's for a great Italian dinner. The food was excellent but the music selection was odd and it just didn't match the quality of the food and decor. Ah well. It's nice to have another great dinner option in Big Sky.
