Artist Point Restoration

The Foundation had helped fund the much-needed restoration of this famous Yellowstone vista. YPF raised $950,000 for this project that included improving accessibility, restoring stairs, improving the parking area, construction of critical retaining walls and stabilizing the hillsides, and restoring indigenous vegetation. I don't recall exactly what this area was like before but I could tell how much work went into this project in a tricky location.
Suzanne Lewis, the park Superintendent, talked about this project and thanked the Foundation and all the park staff who were involved with carrying out this project.

Then, from Artist Point, there were three mini-talks on different subjects. I listened to Tom Murphy give a quick talk about different techniques for landscape photography. Tom, a renowned Yellowstone photographer, is also on the Advisory Council. Colin and I will be taking a 5-day photography course with him in Yellowstone this July. From this little talk, I can tell we will learn a great deal as well as hearing about many of his adventures in the park.
