Adios Costa Rica

...or should I say "hasta luego" (see you later) because I think we'll be back some day.

A Baby Howler Monkey

As Colin and I soaked up the last special moments in Costa Rica, I was reminded of how special these ocean shorelines are. Art and nature comingling this morning as it does day after day like the beating of a heart. From the sublime ocean breeze to the crashing of the surf, from the myriad beautiful shells to the patterns in the sand, from the unfathomable life on the coral reefs to the ever-changing communities in the tide pools, from the pelicans and osprey flying overhead to the howler monkey families swinging in the trees behind us, nature is omnipresent. I take comfort in knowing that, no matter where I am, this heartbeat goes on.

And clearly I see myself in Colin as he excitedly pursues the perfect photograph of the monkeys. He doesn't want to leave either. There is so much to see and explore here. (Chelsea loves this too, but this morning, the pillow's lure was too strong.)

Here are two more photos from our final morning hike.

Signs of Life

This one says it all...

With souls renewed we head back to suburbia...
