Witch's Rock Canopy Tour

Costa Rica is known for adventure. On Monday (1/21) we discovered first-hand how true this is. Just outside the Four Seasons resort on Peninsula Papagayo is a little outfit that takes thrill-seekers on an action-packed zipline tour of the forest canopy. This is not a mellow guided nature walk through the beautiful tropical forest though. No, no. This is an EE Ticket amusement park ride, hold on to your britches, 'oh-my-word what am I doing here' kind of adventure.

Upon arrival at the Witch's Rock Canopy tour office, we quickly strapped on safety gear (or should I say it was strapped on for us) and had a brief demonstration of how to zipline through the forest.

Laurie was ready to practice strapping onto the trainer cable that was strung between two trees but that wasn't going to happen. Before you know it, 10 of us (with about 8 additional guides or so!) took a short walk to our first zipline. You could tell that people were nervous about what was coming, myself included.

Here's a picture of Laurie getting ready for her first Zipline (first of 11 I think):

"How did I get talked into doing this?!?!"

Hold on!

Chelsea was the least nervous of all of us and was thrilled with this unique ride through the trees.

Chelsea Enjoys My Favorite Zipline Over a Waterfall

Like Laurie, Colin was a bit nervous about this whole adventure and since he's relatively light he had to brake less so that he would make it all the way to the other side. By the end though, he seemed to be enjoying it more.
