Day 8 - Grimentz to St. Luc-Chemin des Planetes

With the toughest hikes behind us, everyone was starting to really enjoy the trip even more and our group was gelling really well. We all got along very well and enjoyed each other's company.

Today's hike started by taking a funicular up a mountain in St. Luc. Everyone was ok with getting a little help uphill.  

Along this route there is a trail called Le Chemin des Planetes where the planets are set at there appropriate distances from each other. Here is Saturn with a nice backdrop of clouds:

Today's hike meandered gently up and down across the slope of the mountain. For this easy day, we would actually have lunch at a hotel restaurant mid-mountain.

On our hike downhill to St. Luc, we took the cascades trail and walked alongside an amazing stream with many waterfalls:

Our hotel in St. Luc, the Hotel Bella Tola, was the best hotel of our entire trip!! It was in a beautiful building, impeccably decorated and had a spa with an indoor pool. Laurie signed up immediately for a massage and was very much in heaven at this hotel. No one wanted to leave the next morning. 

That night we were treated to a delicious meal and met the owners of this near perfect hotel. Here I am posing with one of the owners:
