Day 2 - the hiking begins

The first true day of hiking began near Trient, Switzerland after a 45-minute shuttle ride from Chamonix. Today's hike was about ten miles through some nice lark and pine forests. The trail rose steeply and our group got into a nice rhythm straight away. From the first part of the trail we could look down into the town of Martigny and it was a very, very steep drop!!!

This was a tough first day for everyone but it's a very good and compatible group with lots of interesting folks.
