Day 6 - Cabane du Prafleuri to Arolla
After our second hut stay, half the group decided to do a different hike and take a bus to our town instead of doing another fairly long and difficult hike. Laurie and I decided to do it along with the California contingent of John, Angela and Dan. Laurie's stomach was doing much better but many other people were still recovering from that bug.
It's too bad because this was one of my favorite hikes of the Haute Route. We started the day with a short ascent over the ridge to this view of a reservoir (dam is out of sight to he left).
One exciting thing for me was seeing some Ibex up close!! We had seen them yesterday but only briefly and they were far away. I zoomed in on this guy about 30 yards from us.

After walking along the lake we did a major ascent and the views kept getting better and better.

Looks like your weather was pretty good for the most part. I think climbing those ladders and traversing some of those ledges could have been interesting if the weather had been poor! Those flowers are amazing.
