Chicago Bears 23 Jacksonville Jaguars 10

My big birthday present this year was a family trip to see the Chicago Bears play at historic Soldier Field. It was a cold, cold day with wind chills in the single digits and maybe negative single digits!! I think Laurie began to regret this gift by the end of the first quarter.

Nonetheless, we all survived and it was an enjoyable game...for me at least. The Bears played well against a weak opponent so the victory added a few degrees of warmth. It was warmer when we stood and cheered than when we sat there during all the TV timeouts. I think next year, if we go at all, it will be in September or October! As you can see in the photo below, we are all bundled up with many layers. Chelsea and I wore our ski pants, not afraid to look like we were going skiing instead of watching a football game. Laurie, as you see, was the fashionable one and made us look bad. (Note coffee cup in hand!) And yes, you can see my breath...

There was some fun halftime entertainment that consisted of four trampoliners who had just competed in the Summer Olympics in Beijing!! Who knew that was a sport at the Olympics now? Maybe it was just an exhibition sport. They did some amazing, um, bouncing. Below is a photo of them with skis on!! They did all sorts of acrobatics and they really did put on a wild show.

Here's a little video clip of the action:
