Tom's Bachelor Party

Tom (from CA) and Mark (from MA) flew into Chicago for Tom's bachelor party. This had to be one of the best bachelor parties ever. It all started with golf on Friday, continued with a Cubs game on Saturday afternoon, and culminated in a fantastic evening/night/morning in the big city.

Mark managed to snag a few bleacher seats for the Mets vs. Cubs game at Wrigley Field. I had never been there before and it really is a cool ball park. We had a good vantage point of the strike zone from center field and saw the Mets hit two homers to left (their only runs of the game). The Cubs won 6-2 and the crazy Cubs fans were in a frenzy by the end.

Below is a view of these amazing seats outside the stadium on top of buildings beyond the outfield. It's quite a scene.

It looks like Tom was upset with the outcome of the game but actually, I think Mark just said something that didn't sit well with him or he wasn't thrilled about getting his picture taken.

The View from Our Seats

After checking into our downtown Marriott hotel, we exited the hotel to get some dinner, only to find that it was raining cats and dogs! So, we found a good prime rib restaurant, Lawry's, and splurged a bit with some good red wine and food. After dinner, it was thankfully not raining any more and we were ready to hit the Gold Coast area on Rush Street. The streets were abuzz with the excitement that can only really be found in a big city like Chicago.

The big mistake of the night was that I forgot to take my camera with me so there is no photo-documentation of what was to unfold. It's probably better that way. Let's just say that we straggled back into the hotel in the wee hours. Hey. We're in the big city for a bachelor party. We had to go big!!
