Chicago Scenes

On March 14th, I drove Laurie to work and spent much of the day exploring some of the sites in the big city. After seeing Laurie's office for the first time, I walked through downtown re- familiarizing myself with the city scenes and smells. My goal for the day was to visit the Shedd Aquarium and see how it stacked up to the many good aquariums I've visited including the ones in Baltimore, Boston and of course Monterey.
On the 2+ mile walk to the aquarium, I passed by Millennium Park, the well-known park alongside Michigan Avenue with its skating rink, Pritzker Pavillion and most importantly "The Bean" (officially known as the Cloud Gate Sculpture).
The Bean is quite the tourist attraction and there were people from all over the world snapping pictures of this fun sculpture.

Here's a photo from underneath:

From the end, it looks like a big droplet of water reflecting the impressive Chicago skyline:

Better yet, we'll show it to you when you visit!
