Christmas 2006
Our final Christmas in Hinesburg, VT - hard to believe. The Great Room is so perfect for celebrating the season. The whole room just glows with the help of the "Dancing Puppets" wall color. And what a Christmas it was. Mom and Dad came to the house on Chelsea's 12th birthday. Chelsea's big present this year was ear piercing and a couple pairs of earrings. She also seemed thrilled with the Big Ben #7 Steelers jersey!! Hard to believe our youngest is TWELVE years old and taller (by far) than I was in 7th grade.
On Christmas Eve day, it has become a tradition for Laurie and I to do some last minute shopping at the Shelburne Country Store and on Church Street, then sip a fine wine in a local haunt. This has to be one of our favorite Christmas traditions.
We came home that night to dozens of baked cookies needing some frosting so we spent some time decorating them before dinner. Laurie whipped up a great dinner and we lit the carousel to watch the figures spin around in the tower. After dinner, the stockings were hung with glee and Grandpa read "Twas the Night Before Christmas" (99-year old book!) to Colin and Chelsea. Before the kids went to bed we went over all the Christmas morning rules, the most important of which is to get Mom some coffee ASAP.
