Thanksgiving 2006

We enjoyed some of the best Thanksgiving day weather I can recall - sunny, mid-40s. Laurie's sister Doreen arrived Wednesday evening and Lisa, Todd and Anastasia (Annie for short) arrived before noon on Thanksgiving day. While Todd and I watched football (of course), the cousins enjoyed a soak in the tub.

While the kids enjoyed the hot tub, we lit a fire for the first time in our outdoor fireplace. Despite questionable wood quality, we managed to get a good blaze going as the sun was going down in spectacular fashion. All in all, it was a great holiday, and we are very thankful that people made the trip for what will be our last Thanksgiving in VT. We missed Larry, Bev, Arthur, and Dave's family here.

And of course, Laurie made a phenomenal turkey dinner with some help from Doreen and Lisa. Every year I tell myself that I won't get stuffed again, and of course I ended up more stuffed than ever. I'm still recovering...

(I sure will miss this view, which I've seen countless times now. Never gets old...)

This Thanksgiving was a treat for the MacMasters. We have always loved the years when we could come to VT (Todd's family is crazy :)! This year was so nice for it was Annie's first trip to VT! Hard to believe but sadly this is true. She thoroughly enjoys hanging out with her cousins, loves loves loves them, as she does her aunts and uncles. To think only 2 years ago she probably had never heard of turkey and stuffing..., let alone a backyard football game followed by a jacuzzi! We will miss the calm relaxation that Hinesburg has alway promised and delivered, but will look forward to new charms the McGraws will introduce us to. Love always,
Queenie
