Laurie's Birthday

We started the day with a scrumptious breakfast a stone's throw from the ocean. Here is a look at Laurie's bagel and our shared fruit plate:

The highlight of the meal, though, may have been the French-pressed Kona coffee.  We are of course in Kona country. Such smooth flavorful coffee. Needless to say, Laurie is quite happy about the coffee quality!

One unique feature of this resort is that they have a large salt-water pond with dozens of species of fish and a blue-spotted eagle ray.  I plan on snorkeling here at some point.  Here is the pond and eagle ray:

Today was cloudy and it sprinkled but it's still great to be here. We went for a nice jog around the resort to somewhat justify the upcoming birthday dinner. 

The resort even brought us a complimentary bottle of Moët Champagne for the birthday celebration. Nice!
