Day 4 - (Continued) Lamar Flowers

AHHHHHHHH... Back to the Lamar Valley. This has become Colin's favorite place in the park. Mine too. It is a superb place to look for wildlife and there is always something to see. The weather and the angle of the sun changes the look of this valley constantly, like anywhere really. It's just that the Lamar Valley is indescribably special. I guess it really is describable but not by my feeble brain. Some people can write poetically. I see it. I get it. I can try to explain it. But I think I always fall short.

So, maybe a photograph or two can do the talking for me. As I've said before, the true luxury of this trip was the amount of time we had to take it all in. Too often we hurry through places. I am as guilty of that as anyone I'm afraid. The real beauty of a place is revealed over time, by seeing, hearing and smelling. As beautiful as the views are here, on this trip the sounds and smells created an indelible impression on my mind.

The smell of wildflowers and sage was so intoxicating. I can smell it right now as I sit here typing this text into a silly little blog.

My current computer wallpaper:

Can you smell the air?
