Home Away From Home

In researching places to stay in Healdsburg, I found that many of the nice Bed & Breakfast places were booked solid. I wasn't thrilled with the idea of staying at a run-of-the-mill hotel in town either. So, after many hours of surfing the web, I stumbled upon a property management company website offering home rentals.

As it turned out, this was the ideal solution. Jimtown House, located about 6 miles outside of Healdsburg in Alexander Valley, provided the perfect home away from home for us. The home had three bedrooms and two bathrooms with a larger common room for kitchen/dining/living. This was SOOOOOOOO much better than a hotel room and about the same price per couple as a moderately priced hotel room. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the home and its furnishings/amenities.

There was even a nice hot tub on the deck! Immediately upon arrival, we walked next door to the coolest little upscale country store you can imagine (Jimtown Store), bought a bottle of local Sauvignon Blanc from Hanna Winery, some cheese, bread, and olives, and began the party right on the deck with music playing on the outdoor speakers.

The yard was really nice too with many kinds of fruit trees, flowers and even prickly pear cacti.

The spacious living room area had a comfy gas fireplace reading area, flatscreen TV, and game table. The kitchen was heavily outfitted with every utensil you can imagine. There must have been 40 or 50 wine glasses on the shelf!

For a trip like this, a home rental is the only way to go!!!
