Blue Men and Old Friends

An important part of the tradition of going to the US Open on Labor Day weekend is visiting our good friends Connie and Lance and their two wonderful kids, Karina (sp?) and Seth. Laurie and I shared an apartment with Connie in San Francisco. Lance attended Cal-Berkeley at roughly the same time and it's just a strange coincidence that he grew up in my home town of Plattsburgh, NY.

Laurie and I use this visit to "calibrate" our life and catch up on everything that's happened over the past year. It feels like the best therapy session possible but most of all it's just so great to see them. Why can't we live closer to all our friends from the California days?!?! Next year, maybe they will come do something fun in the City with us?

As mentioned previously, this year we went to a Blue Man Group show at a tiny theater in Manhattan. Of course, I love it because of the drumming and music but it really is more performance art than concert. If you've never seen a BMG show, put it on your life list. It's a blast. Colin was brave enough to pose for a photo with one of the blue men after the show. Chelsea said "no thanks".
